It calculates the load moment on the crane based on the boom angle, length, and weight of the load, providing real-time data and alerts to the crane operator when the crane approaches its load limits.
The LMI reads its load value using a pair of load cells, which read tension, An advantage of an LMI is the weight of the boom is calculated as a part of the load calculation.
